Some might argue that financial services – and financial inclusion – is more of a sustainability initiative than a business opportunity. Telenor does not necessarily agree. Financial inclusion definitely has the potential of making a positive impact on society and creating sustainable economic GDP growth, but the great thing is that it also represents attractive business opportunities.
Bringing financial services to the masses for the first time, Easypaisa is used by over 20 million Pakistanis, spans 75,000 outlets across 800 cities and moved 3% of Pakistan’s GDP in 2015. Easypaisa launched with a simple money transfer product, which allowed individuals to send funds to each other.
